As one of Croatia's leading technical institutions, FOI boasts a distinguished alumni network that includes our very own director of software development for internal engagements Saša Ivičević, a few lead software engineers, and many other engineers and developers.

Serengeti's participation
Marking a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to industry education and talent development, Serengeti took center stage on Wednesday, 18th October, but even before the main event, our director for internal development, FOI alumni, and Varaždin's office site manager, Saša, held an online pitch for every interested student.
On the day of the event, our booth served as one of the vibrant hubs for FOI students interested in cutting-edge technology and career opportunities within Serengeti. We provided them with information about the company, our extensive multi-industry expertise, and our technology stack. We also gave them some useful advice regarding their careers and highlighted the importance of proactivity, so if a little bit of career counselling wasn't in their sights, they surely got more than they bargained for.
On this day, we not only had an exhibition booth but also conducted a very useful and util workshop entitled "Build a Micro-Frontend Application with Single SPA Framework held by our mid software developer, Nikolina Tkalec.
Workshop „Build a Micro-Frontend Application with Single SPA Framework“
This workshop was about building micro-frontends using the Single SPA Framework. As the architectural shift from monolithic frontends to micro-frontends becomes increasingly prevalent, understanding the Single SPA framework is crucial.
This framework allows for the coexistence of multiple frameworks or versions on the same page without reloading the whole page. This modular approach can help organizations like ours enhance scalability, maintainability, and development speed. Nikolina did a splendid job in explaining the topic, but also in highlighting the importance of continuous learning in software development.
The workshop saw enthusiastic participation and involvement from FOI students who aspire to be the next generation of engineers, developers, tech leads, and innovators. It was particularly rewarding to engage with students who are already familiar with front-end technologies such as Angular, React, or Vue, which mesh well with the Single SPA framework.
High-end business and education cooperation
As an organization that values the cultivation of talent and the exchange of ideas, our partnership with FOI doesn’t end with Career Week. We're already in talks about potential collaborations on research projects, guest lectures, and future workshops.
At Serengeti, we are very happy and proud, if we may add, for our dedicated cooperation and continuous, ongoing initiatives with many higher educational institutions in the country which see us as reliable partners while simultaneously directing their students toward our company. It worked out great so many times in the past – why would it stop now?
